WEC Trek is the short-term programme of WEC International.
We send both
individuals and teams overseas to participate in evangelism, practical help and
language learning alongside WEC workers.
WEC Trek’s goal is to provide you with
an opportunity to learn what is involved in sharing Christ cross-culturally.
WEC Trek will help you explore whether God is leading you towards longer-term missionary service
overseas, or perhaps more missions involvement at home.
WEC Trek offers two different tracks

An individual Trek offers a tailor-made placement alongside
experienced WEC workers in the country of your choice.
These individualised placement opportunities can be for up to a
year in duration.
Team Trek opportunities exist each year.
You can join
a team of between four and ten people, with an experienced team leader, where you will assist long-term
WEC workers in a variety of ministries around the world.
Team Treks usually
go out during the summer months, and typically last for between three to five
weeks.
Team Treks in 2008 will be going to Korea, Italy and Mexico.

Trek Deeper!
Our pre-field preparation, supervised placement, review, and follow-up
make the WEC Trek programme more than just a short-term trip.
It is more like a discipleship programme for cross-cultural workers.
Trekking
Deeper is a devotional discipleship course written by Phil Gresham, specifically for short-term
volunteers to use during their placements. The aim of the course is to
help Trekkers keep their focus on Christ and grow spiritually while they
are on assignment.
WEC Trek UK is working towards the Global Connections code of best
practice in short-term programmes. This means that we will endeavour to
ensure that each element of the programme will be excellent.
