Hotel Credo, Wilderswil, near Interlaken, Switzerland

The village of Wilderswil is situated 4 km south of Interlaken. Its beautiful setting in the Bernese Oberland, between the lakes of Thun and Brienz, makes it an ideal summer holiday resort.

WEC has run holidays abroad for many years in Switzerland, Norway and Austria. You will meet people from a variety of church backgrounds. We believe you will be encouraged spiritually and enjoy a refreshing holiday.

The hotel 

Credo is a Christian hotel overlooking the snow-capped Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.

There is a lift to all floors with 45 bedrooms, dining room, spacious lounge, conference room and games room. Outside there is a children’s play area and a volleyball court.

Itinerary

Landing at Zurich, the scenic 3-hour coach journey will first stop at Luzern, then enter the Bernese Oberland and descend towards Lake Brienz to arrive at Wilderswil.

On the first full day, after the morning Bible reading, you are free to explore the picturesque village of Wilderswil, or you may prefer to discover some of the attractions of the Interlaken area.

Other days except Sunday there will be at least two options of organised trips – one usually more energetic. Your holiday can be as busy or relaxed as you choose. All trips are entirely optional, and guests' suggestions are also considered. 

Speakers

Trevor and Jen Kallmier, WEC International Directors, who have had much experience of a church-planting ministry in Indonesia and of training leaders in Asia.

Steve & Catherine McGoldrick, who have served with WEC's Rainbows of Hope ministry in Sierra Leone, and are planning to start a new work in the Congo. 

Each day WEC members will bring you up-to-date information for prayer and praise, and there will be a communion service in English at the hotel on the Sunday.

Your hosts:

Jim McWhinnie is a Scot working with his Swiss wife, Mirjam, at WEC Switzerland in Rüti. Jim will organise and lead various trips and activities.

John and Margaret Antill have served with WEC in Senegal, and are now part of the UK Network living in Leicester.

Danny & Ann Marie Isenring, lead WEC's Radio Worldwide ministry based in Leeds, but have a particular interest in Central Asia.

Cost

£665 per adult (based on shared/double room)

Special rates for children on application.

This price includes flights on Swiss International Air Lines between London Heathrow and Zurich, airport taxes and coach transfer. For an additional fee there are some flights from Manchester. 

Full board at Hotel Credo includes continental buffet breakfast, morning coffee, packed lunch and evening dinner.

The cost of the holiday is calculated at the present rate of exchange.  We reserve the right to change the price, should there be a significant deviation in the current rate or an increase in airport tax.

Insurance:

Full holiday insurance is essential. 

Cancellations

The booking fee is £75 per person. If you cancel your trip up to 8 weeks before the departure date, only your deposit will be lost. If a cancellation is made less than 8 weeks before departure, a cancellation scale will apply, irrespective of whether the final balance is paid.
