24-31 July 2010
WEC Scotland invite you to join us in the south of Holland at
Hagelkruisstraat 19, 5835 Beugen, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands
- Enjoy a relaxing holiday
- good Christian fellowship
- stimulating Bible teaching
- learn more of what God is doing in the world today
Facilities
Cornerstone is WEC’s cross-cultural training centre in North Brabant, south-east Holland. It is housed in an historic convent building in a rural area.
The campus is quiet during the summer, and its facilities include: comfortable lounge areas, an extensive library and wireless broadband, indoor and outdoor play areas for children, volleyball court, lawns and orchards, table tennis, pool table, table football, and gymnasium equipment.
Excursions
There will be two full day outings arranged to Amsterdam and Nijmegen, including an afternoon trip on the ‘pancake boat’.
Optional outings to local places of interest will be on offer for the other days: for example the National War Museum at Overloon, the Open Air Museum in Arnhem, and Corrie Ten Boom’s house in Haarlem.
Bicycles are also available to explore the surrounding countryside.
Main speaker
Howel Jones from Wales will be bringing the Bible readings each morning. Howel was formerly a lecturer and tutor at Jordanhill teacher training college, Glasgow. He is a gifted Bible teacher, and he and his wife Ann have been involved with WEC's ministry for many years.
WEC missionaries, fresh from their countries of service, will be with us for the week, giving up-to-date reports from around the world, and personal testimonies in the informal evening sessions.
Holiday organisers
Douglas and Jeanette Craig are your hosts for the week. They worked for 11 years as WEC missionaries in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and for 13 years as staff members at Cornerstone Cross-cultural Training Centre in the Netherlands, where we will be staying.
Since January 2008 Douglas and Jeanette have been based in Glasgow and have been responsible for coordinating WEC's regional network in Scotland.
Itinerary
The holiday will start with the evening meal at 18:00 hrs.
The programme will end after breakfast on Saturday 31st July.
A children's programme will run parallel to the adult meetings.
