There was a pop concert and celebrations in the Baghdad zoo park, fireworks in the night sky, and jubilation in the streets marking the leaving of US troops.  Pray for Iraq in this new era that violence might continue to diminish and peace, order and justice be secured for all the people.

Two children badly burned when a train exploded as it passed through an Italian town have died of their injuries, taking the death toll to 16.  Pray for the families of these children and of the others who have died.  Also for the other victims that are still seriously ill in hospital.

Belarus has received far less attention from Christian missions than its neighbours - pray that more people would be called to serve the people of Belarus and have wisdom in how not to draw negative attention from the authorities.

Lebanon is still the only land in the Middle East where people are free to decide to change their religion. Pray that this incredible freedom would be maintained.

There is a crisis in leadership among many Jordanian churches - pray that more people would be called and trained for this challenge.

Over half the population cannot read. Pray that these people will be able to hear the gospel through radio, the JESUS film and other media.
