Last month, I started to feedback some of the encouragements that we have received from the Lord, as we have met together to pray and fast each Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime.
One aspect the Lord has been bringing to our attention is our need to be constantly dependent on him.
Psalm 121 is one scripture that has been brought into the prayer times. In verses 1 and 2 we read:
I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth?
One implication of looking up is that our eyes and therefore our
attention, is taken away from the circumstances to become fixed on the
Lord!
The enemy works very hard to discourage us. One of his tactics is
to try to take our eyes off the Lord whilst at the same time
whispering in our ear
“Did God really say that?
Did God really tell us
to redevelop Bulstrode?
Do you really think your prayers will be
answered?”
Only by keeping our eyes fixed firmly on the Lord and his
leading do we find ourselves in the position of faith to answer “Yes,
Yes and Yes!” God’s promise is to provide all we need to accomplish his
will; we believe we are moving ahead in obedience to him so we rely on
his character and his promise and not our character or our faithfulness.
Please pray:
-
For safety for the workers on site.
-
For good relationships with the Contractor and the workers. This is an
opportunity to demonstrate the substance and reality of our faith.
-
Praise God for who He is, His faithfulness and His constancy in our lives.
-
Pray for wisdom as we seek the Lord for His clear leading for the next step.
