Twelve reasons1 We belong to the worldwide church. When a child becomes a Christian, he/she should learn about his new family. 2 In heaven there are people of all nationalities. We need to adequately prepare children for heaven. 3 Jesus died for all peoples, not just some. Anybody on God's heart should be on our hearts and on children's hearts too. 4 Mission is a theme throughout the Bible, and we have a responsibility to teach the whole truth. 5 Mission is an activity for the whole church, not just the adults. 6 God has always had important roles for children in His worldwide purposes. They are world changers. 7 Children can be involved in mission now, particularly through praying and giving. Children are some of the most effective intercessors, because they have uncluttered faith. 8 Children are the missionaries of the future, but some go with their families as God's ambassadors while still children. We should prepare every child for what God wants him/her to do. 9 Children need to learn to cope more effectively with the non-Christian cultures around them. Learning about mission will help them in this process, and will warn them of the dangers of involvement in non-Biblical religious practices. 10 Children can learn how to be effective evangelists to non-Christian children, by learning how other people in other places become Christians. 11 Children are naturally interested in everything around them, and learning about mission will arouse their interest in geography, language acquisition and cultural sensitivity, and improve their education. 12 Participation in God's worldwide purposes is exciting. Mission is a colourful topic bursting with activity and compassionate action. It's fun, moving and rewarding.
