Meet the WEC Trek team PDF Print E-mail

Brian joined the team in January 2008. He and his family returned from the Gambia, where he taught people to build energy efficient kitchens among other things.

Having experienced first-hand how God works in the lives of the Trekkers on the field, Brian is looking forward to being involved in the home end of the work.

Brian is married to Mi Ran from South Korea, and they have two teenage sons, Ben and Paul.

Heather works part-time with WEC Trek.

She previously worked in Mexico for eight years with her family. They were involved with church planting, sharing their faith and children’s work.

She enjoys encouraging others to experience the joys and challenges of cross-cultural work with WEC Trek.

Carol worked in Spain for 11 years, some of that time working with Betel (drug rehabilitation work) and Rainbows of Hope (children's ministry).

In Spain she worked alongside a number of Trekkers and shared a flat with some of them, so she saw first hand some of the benefits and blessings both a WEC field and a Trekker can experience through this programme.

She is keen to encourage young people to step out of their comfort zone and see God at work in and through them as they serve Him overseas.

David and Hwa are from Korea. They joined WEC in 1993, where they worked alongside the International Office and the UK IT department.

More recently, they have recognised the IT needs on the field and are actively involved in recruiting ‘computer folk’ into mission.

They have one daughter, Deborah.

Anna joined the team in January 2007 after spending 9½ years in Africa - 3 years in the rainforest of Democratic Republic of Congo and 6½ years in the sub-Sahara capital city of Chad.

Having said that, she is relatively normal; loves travelling whenever she can, and meeting up for coffee with friends.

Anna is married to Brian and they have two daughters and one son.

Ernest and Isobel are WEC Ministry Associates based in Portadown, Northern Ireland.

They had never even been abroad until Ernest went on a trip to Guinea-Bissau. This made them realise the impact that a short trip can have on a whole family.

Their daughter and son have now also been involved in short trips, so they are keen to encourage both Trekkers interested in travel, and their families who remain at home.
