SOON Ministries

SOON Ministries send free evangelistic newspapers worldwide. Full of attention grabbing articles, Bible stories and personal testimonies, more than six million copies are produced each year.

Where do the papers go?

Home groups and individuals send them by post to over 150 countries.

SOON, Upesi, Cedo, Bientot & BadakeSOON in easy English – sent to Africa and Asia

BADAKE and BOOYATA in Pulaar – sent to West Africa

BIENTOT in French – sent to Western Europe, and West and Central Africa

CEDO in Portuguese – sent to Portugal, and West and Southern Africa

UPESI in Swahili – sent to Central and East Africa

All these titles mean 'soon', reminding us of the saying of Jesus 'Yes I am coming soon!' (Revelation 22:20)

In easy English

Individuals who request a paper receive several copies to give to friends, while many churches and missionaries order copies in bulk. The papers are passed around hospitals, schools, prisons and refugee camps, reaching thousands with the gospel.

'When I read SOON for the first time it was only because I was learning English. Now I am also interested in its contents, because I've believed in Jesus Christ.' a reader in Romania

The English SOON papers are in simple language, easy for English learners to understand. There is also a magazine website in easy English www.soon.org.uk where viewers can find articles and testimonies similar to the papers, as well as help learning English.

Developing a faith

SOON Ministries offer Bible Correspondence courses to readers who have been moved by these papers and want to learn more about being a follower of Jesus.

'I never thought that there is someone who could forgive us. I have learnt something new.' a reader in Mauritius

How do readers respond?

• They ask for papers to be sent on a regular basis or enrol on an evangelistic correspondence course
• They get in touch, asking questions, sharing their problems or explaining how the papers have challenged and helped them
• They ask for a copy of the New Testament
• They grow in their faith and are encouraged to share their testimony with friends
• They start Reader's Clubs to share what they have learnt

'My club has nine members. They come from different churches to meet in my home. We study the Bible and discuss it. It helps us to live in these troubled times.' a Nigerian reader

Evangelise the world from your home

SOON Ministries rely on volunteers to package and put the papers in the mail. Volunteers fold the papers, label and seal envelopes and pay for the postage. Many meet in groups – perhaps you could get your whole church involved.

'Every time I take the papers to the postbox, I feel like a missionary.' a SOON volunteer
