What is WEC Trek's goal?

Who is the Trek programme for?

You, if you're at least 18 years old, and have:
• a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• a servant heart
• a flexible attitude
• some skills to offer
You also need to be a UK resident and medically fit.

Do you contact my home church?

Yes, it's important that your church is encouraging you and praying for you.

If you are going on a Team Treks, you need just a reference from your church leader. For a Solo Trek, you need three references, including your church leader.

How much does it cost?

Costs vary depending on where you go and how long you stay. They usually include return ticket to country, insurance, board and lodging, internal travel, essential vaccinations, orientation and debrief.

Where will I stay?

In the homes of WEC workers or local people, or in guest houses.

Will I study another language?

As much as possible! During orientation we teach you to make the most of language-learning opportunities. You may already speak a national language, but might like to start to learn a local or tribal language.

What support does WEC give?

WEC is with you every step of the way. Before heading to your chosen country, you will have attend an orientation course at a WEC headquarters, providing both spiritual and cultural preparation. Discipleship material is available during Trek for study and reflection.

What happens when I get back from Trek?

Each Trek is followed by one or two days of debriefing. If you take part in a Solo Trek, there is a nine-month follow-up programme to keep your sights on God.

When is the deadline for applications?
