About WEC
What is WEC?
WEC International is a Christian mission agency – a specialized arm of the Christian Church.
Our role is to bring the good news of Jesus to the peoples who have had the least opportunity to hear it. This can only be done in the context of deep love and respect for the peoples of the world. As we encounter different cultures and faiths, we have much to learn.
There are many misunderstandings to untangle, but we believe that Jesus Christ, uniquely, can transform the life of everyone in this world, and this world itself. We aim to follow Him, serve like Him, and tell people about Him. This takes faith and sacrifice. Together with holiness and fellowship, these are the foundational principles that have guided WEC throughout its nearly 100 years of life.
What do we believe?
WEC International is an inter-denominational evangelical mission. This means that we work with all who love the Lord Jesus, accept an evangelical basis of faith, and share our desire to see the gospel reach everyone everywhere.
Jesus said that when that happens He will return (Matthew 24:14), and we are looking forward to that day, which will also mark the closing date for our mission.
Why don't we appeal for funds? We believe that prayer underpins everything we do.
We believe strongly in teamwork, and teams around the world have a lot of responsibility to take initiative to get the work done.
Guiding principles: Every WEC worker is committed to live out four Biblical principles which we call 'the Four Pillars of WEC': faith, sacrifice, holiness, and fellowship.
