Religious hatred often goes hand in hand with all the ethnic divisions. Pray that Christians would be examples in their love, forgiveness and friendships with all people.

Syrian society is dominated by fear of the intelligence services, making it very difficult for churches who support Muslim-background believers. Pray for young evangelical pastors working to bring change to the country and unity to the church.

Namibia (28 Jul)

Young people in Namibia are becoming more and more materialistic and increasingly see the church as irrelevant. Pray for the Christian young people of Namibia that they might be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to impact their peer group in this generation.

Sri Lanka (27 Jul)

Open Doors recently conducted Standing Strong Through The Storm seminars for 70 pastors from remote areas of Sri Lanka, who are vulnerable to attacks by Buddhist monks and locals. Pray that they would apply what they have learned when they face persecution.

Mozambique (26 Jul)

There is a growing Muslim population in the northern and coastal areas of Mozambique. At the moment there are only a few Christians working in this area. Pray that people will be called with a long term commitment to reach these people and understand their culture and needs.

Spain (25 Jul)

A most successful area of work has been the drug rehabilitation work of Betel which has expanded into an increasing number of countries. Pray for the Betel church and work that the impact of this ministry might continue and that an increasing number of addicts might have their lives revolutionized as they come to Christ.

Pakistan (24 Jul)

Police reinforcements have been called in, in the Pakistani city of Faisalabad a day after two Christians charged with blasphemy were shot dead outside court. Clashes broke out in the city, home to a large Christian community, after the brothers were gunned down. Pastor Rashid Emmanuel, 32, and Sajid, 24, were accused of writing a pamphlet critical of the Prophet Muhammad; a rights activist said they were framed. Pray for the families, relatives and churches of these two Christians and pray for the large Christian community that have been affected by these murders.
